In the last trading session, U.S. stocks closed in the green, rebounding from three weeks of slump, driven by a rise in oil prices. Among the top ETFs, investors saw SPY gain 1%, DIA move up 1.01% and QQQ rise 1.25% on the day. Two more specialized ETFs are worth noting as both saw trading volume that was far outside of normal. In fact, both these funds experienced volume levels that were more than double their average for the most recent trading session. This could make these ETFs the ones to watch out for in the days ahead to see if this trend of extra-interest continues: GNR: Volume 6.17 times average This S&P Global Natural Resources ETF was in the spotlight as roughly 877,000 shares moved hands yesterday compared to an average of roughly 142,000 shares. GNR gained 2.3% in the session. The movement can be largely attributed to crude oil prices hitting a fresh high in 2016 after a report from Goldman Sachs stated that the world's crude glut has switched to a deficit. Global supply disruptions also contributed to the gain. GNR gained 0.8% in the past one month. MCHI: Volume 2.51 times average This China ETF was in focus yesterday as around 2.3 million shares moved hands compared with an average of roughly 927,000 shares a day. We also saw some price movement as MCHI gained nearly 2.5% in the last session. The big move was largely the result of disappointing Chinese data that renewed concerns about the world's second largest economy and can have a big impact on the China stocks like what we find in this ETF portfolio. In the past one-month period, MCHI was down 7.1% and has a Zacks ETF Rank of 4 or ‘Sell’ rating with a Medium risk outlook. Want the latest recommendations from Zacks Investment Research?
