Amid industry wide slump in investment banking revenues, Credit Suisse Group AG CS is eliminating nine executives from its fixed-income and structured-products business in Brazil, according to a Bloomberg report.Citing unidentified sources, the report divulged that eight executives have already left the bank and Sergio Machado, a managing director and head of the business is to follow suit.Last month, as part of restructuring measures, Credit Suisse announced the elimination of an additional 2,000 jobs in its Global Markets unit, raising the total number of job cuts this year to 6,000.Global investment banks are currently facing revenue pressure as issues including market turmoil, volatility in commodity prices and slowdown of emerging markets continue to affect business and client activity levels as well as market volumes. Stricter regulations and declining fixed income trading have forced banks to reduce costs through job cuts and compensation reduction.According to Dealogic data, which released its preliminary investment banking review for first-quarter 2016 in the last month, global investment banking revenues in the quarter declined 36% year over year to $12.8 billion. In Brazil, investment banks witnessed a 42% decline in revenues on a year-over-year basis to $436 million.Notably, JPMorgan Chase & Co. JPM had the highest share in global investment banking revenues (8.1%), while Credit Suisse ranked eighth (3.5%) for first-quarter 2016. Credit Suisse currently carries Zacks Rank #5 (Sell). A couple of better-ranked stocks in the foreign banks space include Grupo Financiero Galicia S.A. GGAL and BBVA Banco Francés S.A. BFR.
