This is Brian Bolan filing in for the Ultimate Editor, Jim Giaquinto. Jim, or Jimmy G as I call him, had the day off and has me filling in for him. Normally, when I step in for Jimmy G the market dumps and often times it dumps in a big way. That wasn’t the case. Well the NASDAQ fell about 28 points or 0.4%. The Dow was up 70 points or 0.3% and the S&P 500 fell by about half a point. So this was really a mixed day. They Bring Good Things To Life GE is a name that many of the older subscribers would swear by. I mean GE used to be the Google or Amazon of its day. Now, things are different. I wrote an article back in the summer about the time that I was asked to be CNBC but the segment got bumped. I was supposed to be the bear on GE… and I think I had too much in the way of ammunition. The stock was in the 30’s at that time, now it is around $7. I am not sure why it got an upgrade today from JP Morgan, but that happened. My question is what has materially changed to make you want to buy and hold shares of a stock that looks like that. Sometimes the brokers are right, sometimes they are not. Additions There were two additions to the portfolios today. The first one was made by yours truly. Tech Innovators added shares of TWLO to the list. Tech Innovators has only a few holdings so I wanted to get some of the cash that was on the sidelines into the market. I believe we are closer to the end of the correction than we are to the start, so adding exposure is going to be a focus over the next few weeks. Be sure to read the alert and the full write up for Tech Innovators for more on that name and others. Income Investor is led by Mr. Free Lunch himself, Ryan McQueeny. Ryan does a daily live show here at Zacks called Free Lunch where he will often have a celebrity guest join him to speak on TSLA. Ok, that celebrity is really me. Or it is David Bartosiak, but in the end it is always a good time and informative. Ryan made a move for Income Investor today and added Gilead Sciences (GLID). Ryan went through the valuation, the dividend and the shift at management. Be sure to read his alert and continuing commentary. Tomorrow Tomorrow we go back to our regularly scheduled programming… which is to say that the Ultimate Editor will be here with a much more eloquent entry.
